Our Wyndham journey started in March 2012 during a trip to the Gold Coast with our son and fiancé, where we attended a sales presentation with “Jill” at Wyndham Surfers Paradise and it was there we became Owners.
Having been timeshare owners since 2000, we have enjoyed many years of the magnificent WorldMark family life, in all manner of luxury from the east to the west of Australia and Tasmania, as well as New Zealand
Following a week in Fiji in May we were home a week and then onto Sydney for another four nights.
Although we live in Sydney, we are about 60 kilometres from the CBD so have found Wyndham Sydney Suites to be perfect for either a weekend stop to take in a show, or simply enjoy some shopping, or head off to the beach to relax. The team in Sydney are just like family and always make you feel right at home.
Patty and I recently had a three-night stay using a Grab It deal at TRYP, Brisbane. The experience at the hotel was first class. It started with the very cherry welcome at this boutique hotel reception (not just at booking in but also every time you walk back into the building), followed by being personally escorted to our room where all the facilities of the room were explained to us. The personal handwritten welcome note on the bed (complete with 2 Chupa Chups) was a nice touch, and it was one of the funkiest, freshest rooms I have ever stayed in. Continue reading
Nineteen 100 Club members enjoy the very best of Tasmania over four unforgettable days.
Story by Candice Dittman, Sales Program Manager, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific
On Wednesday 30 November 2016, nineteen 100 Club members – accompanied by a handful of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific staff members and Executives – kicked off one of the most memorable 100 Club events to date.
The event began at the beautiful Brooke St. Pier in Hobart with a signature cocktail and canapés in the stunning Glass House restaurant, before moving downstairs for dinner in Brooke St Larder. The restaurant was closed off especially for our 100 Club guests, who received personal attention throughout the event.
I think their faces tell the story.
Hi! Both my husband Michael and I have been members of WorldMark South Pacific Club for over 13 years, achieving Privileges Platinum level. Recently, we documented four fabulous weeks of travel across the USA followed by another week of cruising in the Caribbean.
The journey begins …
The weather here was sunny and warm to hot. The highlights were Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood, even though Hollywood wasn’t what I thought it would be … it turned out to be quite dirty and cramped with construction work in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre and most of the surrounding streets.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Where the stars are immortalised on Hollywood Boulevard! It has more than 2,500 stars spread over 18 blocks and over 10 million visitors a year. We could only do a few blocks due to time restrictions, but what a thrill to be here.
The Hollywood Sign was initially Hollywood Land sales. Originally made from timber, it was rebuilt in metal and is now an icon.
Rodeo Drive was very exciting. Beverly Wiltshire Hotel is where Pretty Woman was filmed. The street is lined with exclusive shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. so I could only window shop. There were lots of prestige cars such as Mercedes, Ferrari etc. to look at.
On the afternoon of November 5, 2016 Ramada Golden Beach (Sunshine Coast, Queensland) hosted the wedding of Anthony Quin and Kerry L’Estrange.
Anthony and Kerry met on online dating site eHarmony four years ago and joined the Wyndham Discovery program whilst holidaying on the Gold Coast in 2014.
It was my husband’s 60th Birthday and the 30th anniversary of when we first met in USA, so to celebrate both occasions we decided on a trip to California, USA. We wanted to restrict it to two weeks so that it would fit in the September school holidays.
We decided on Anaheim due to the theme parks and San Diego because going to the San Diego Zoo was high up on my children’s bucket list.
We stayed at Worldmark Anaheim resort and Wyndham Inn at the Park at San Diego. We only had points to cover one week, but by borrowing on next year’s point we had enough to cover the whole accommodation. September is a good time to go because it is not peak season in USA, however the weather is still warm.
At Anaheim we went to Disneyland for two days and to Universal Studios on one day. The kids loved Disneyland of course. My husband and I really enjoyed Universal Studios, especially the Studio Tour which included a 360-degree 3D show of King Kong versus T-Rex. The special effects show was interesting and the kids loved the animal actors show. The Minions 3D ride was fun and it was so warm that day that the kids walked through the Water Park with their clothes on just to cool down. (Hint: bring swimming costumes for the kids.)
With my partner Rosemary, I have been a Wyndham Owner since 2006. In ten years of accumulative membership we have experienced some fantastic vacations and short stays in beautiful places within Australia and overseas. We have enjoyed time in Vancouver, Whistler, Fiji, Bali, Wanaka (at least 10 times in both summer and winter) and thanks to our RCI association, holidays in France, Greece and Tahiti. Did I mention the cruises?
In 2017 we will enjoy another New Zealand stay in Wanaka followed by Hawaii, California, Missouri, Florida and New York. While that will be exciting, it is the winter break in North Queensland, Port Douglas and we particularly love when the warm jackets can be left at home in the cupboard.
