My partner and I are long-term members of Wyndham Timeshare. We joined about 9 years ago and have had a marvellous time staying in excellent accommodation in every state in Australia and New Zealand. When we joined there were only 3 locations in our own state of Victoria; Torquay, Ballarat and Lakes Entrance. Much to our delight, Wyndham has grown and the new locations both in Australia and internationally are splendid.
Late in October I said to Robert “Look there’s a new Victorian Resort at Dinner Plain in the Alps!” Robert looked at the photos of the beautiful mountain scenery and replied, “Yes but its a ski resort and we are past the age of snow sports.”
“We don’t have to be skiers or even go when the snow covers the Ramada Resort Mount Hotham” I replied. “Let’s go off season. Spring native flowers will be out and we will be surrounded by the National Parks, so there will be plenty of rambles.”
That’s exactly what we did. The Ramada Resort Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham chalets were wonderful with nearly 360 degree views of the Alpine Mountains and brilliant sunsets. Well marked tracks led us to historic cattlemen’s huts and scenic waterfalls, fed by melting snows. A week was not enough but the return to Melbourne via Bright in the Ovens Valley also gave us an off season treat. In Mytleford, the ripe cherries were being harvested and we staggered home with kilos of ridiculously cheap, lush red fruit to give to our city friends.
Staying in a ski resort in summer is perfect – you have to try it!
This beautiful picture was captured at dusk and taken at WorldMark Resort Ballarat (VIC) during our weekend away for the Anzac holiday break. We enjoyed our relaxing stay here and will be back again for another stay.
This story is a little different to others I have read in Destinations magazine. They generally started with a flight or a weekend road trip. This one starts with a plan to spend 7 weeks camping the East Coast of Australia with 2 kids, travelling from Townsville (Far North QLD) to Melbourne (VIC) then taking in Tassie for good measure.
We decided to break the trip up along the way by staying at a few of our Wyndham resorts to recharge & take a break from the everyday fun of setting up & packing up camp. In hindsight, that was a fabulous decision!

As a long-time Owner and a big fan of Wyndham, I’ve had yet another brilliant experience with this Club.
Just over the weekend I went to Melbourne for a rare girls weekend with 2 of my dear friends. We had planned this for 9 months so our expectation was high. This trip was finally a child free weekend to see the Australian Open Tennis Championships and do some sightseeing in a city I hadn’t been to in 5 years.
Knowing that Wyndham Hotel Melbourne (VIC) was new was really exciting as I know the standard would be at the usual high rate and I wasn’t disappointed.
My husband had a birthday in April and said he wanted to have a couple of nights in the city for his present. We are both retired and on a limited budget so I thought why not use the timeshare. We only have 6,000 Credits in Wyndham, so use it for small midweek breaks usually at the end of another holiday.

We live in the outer East of Melbourne so we are familiar with the city. For a couple of months before I kept my eye out for good dinner deals on Groupon and managed one dinner at Docklands and another in South Yarra. Parking would have cost $30 per day and seeing we did not need the car we used the train. We alighted at Flagstaff Station and it was a block and a half to Wyndham Hotel Melbourne (VIC). Note Flagstaff Station is not open at weekends.
We were on the 3rd floor, the floors above 4th are not operated by Wyndham, with the gym and pool facilities being shared with those permanent tenants. Lifts open both ways servicing both lots of tenants.
When considering becoming a new Club member, one of the fantastic benefits I could see was the chance to arrange family holidays at local and exotic locations.
My first holiday with WorldMark was a great family get-together and my choice was Ramada Phillip Island(VIC). With three generations of family in attendance and other family dropping in for day trips, this destination hit all the pluses for a family reunion.
