USA: “Four fabulous weeks of travel across the USA”

Hi! Both my husband Michael and I have been members of WorldMark South Pacific Club for over 13 years, achieving Privileges Platinum level. Recently, we documented four fabulous weeks of travel across the USA followed by another week of cruising in the Caribbean.

The journey begins …

Los Angeles

The weather here was sunny and warm to hot. The highlights were Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood, even though Hollywood wasn’t what I thought it would be … it turned out to be quite dirty and cramped with construction work in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre and most of the surrounding streets.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Where the stars are immortalised on Hollywood Boulevard! It has more than 2,500 stars spread over 18 blocks and over 10 million visitors a year. We could only do a few blocks due to time restrictions, but what a thrill to be here.

The Hollywood Sign was initially Hollywood Land sales. Originally made from timber, it was rebuilt in metal and is now an icon.

Rodeo Drive was very exciting. Beverly Wiltshire Hotel is where Pretty Woman was filmed. The street is lined with exclusive shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. so I could only window shop. There were lots of prestige cars such as Mercedes, Ferrari etc. to look at.

California, USA: “A great holiday with some great memories”

It was my husband’s 60th Birthday and the 30th anniversary of when we first met in USA, so to celebrate both occasions we decided on a trip to California, USA. We wanted to restrict it to two weeks so that it would fit in the September school holidays.

We decided on Anaheim due to the theme parks and San Diego because going to the San Diego Zoo was high up on my children’s bucket list.

We stayed at Worldmark Anaheim resort and Wyndham Inn at the Park at San Diego. We only had points to cover one week, but by borrowing on next year’s point we had enough to cover the whole accommodation. September is a good time to go because it is not peak season in USA, however the weather is still warm.

At Anaheim we went to Disneyland for two days and to Universal Studios on one day. The kids loved Disneyland of course. My husband and I really enjoyed Universal Studios, especially the Studio Tour which included a 360-degree 3D show of King Kong versus T-Rex. The special effects show was interesting and the kids loved the animal actors show. The Minions 3D ride was fun and it was so warm that day that the kids walked through the Water Park with their clothes on just to cool down. (Hint: bring swimming costumes for the kids.)

A Crescendo Of WorldMark Holidays

When the taxi pulled up outside WorldMark Vancouver – The Canadian on Hornby Street in Vancouver, a lady appeared on the pavement. I heard her say “Welcome to WorldMark, you must have just got off the cruise ship”.  The WorldMark receptionist had looked out the window and seen the taxi pull up and saw us get out of the taxi. She came out into the street to greet us. This friendly receptionist made us feel most welcome.

During my stay in Vancouver, I read in the Club’s Destinations magazine that belonging to WorldMark is like having relatives in 71 countries. This is how it felt when we were greeted in Vancouver. We had the feeling of being welcomed home by a long lost cousin.

A Wonderful Trip to the USA

Visited USA last December / January and was in USA for 6 weeks.  We had the most wonderful time staying a number of WorldMark hotels. Staff were wonderful and their assistance to us was valuable to the success of our holiday. Thank you WorldMark.

We visited the Grand Canyon just after it snowed and it was amazing. The snow made it extra special and spectacular.

20th Wedding Anniversary: “WorldMark Helped Us Create Lifelong Memories!”

Waikiki - WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham tiemshareLet me share my holiday of a lifetime with you.

My husband Damian and I have been Owners since 2003 and have enjoyed many wonderful holidays within Australia, but for our 20th Wedding Anniversary we wanted to do something really special. We both have been to the U.S.A. before but wanted to visit places we had never been. What better place to go for a Wedding Anniversary but to VEGAS! We decided we would go and renew our vows with Elvis and that is exactly what we did.

This was also our first trip without our two children, aged 17 and 15. We have never been away from them but decided that 20 years was something we really deserved to celebrate and if we were going to go to U.S.A. we decided to look at where to go before and after Vegas. This is where our membership with WorldMark was a Godsend! We booked everything online with ease and ended up with an itinerary that looked like this: Waikiki, San Francisco, Las Vegas, road trip to Palm Springs then back to Waikiki. We filled our days with tours and nights with shows, and had the absolute holiday of a lifetime! Continue reading

“USA all the way!!”

Disney World | WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham

Disney World

It’s been two sleeps in my own bed and two days of washing and unpacking. What I am unfolding is not just a piece of clothing that holds a faint odour of ‘suitcase’, but also holds the memory of a recent experience that I shared with my family of a wonderful trip around the USA. It was five week marathon that was designed to be ‘the’ once-in-a-lifetime holiday for our family to enjoy before the children grow up and get parentitis, or we grow up and get dodgy knees!

The destination, USA, a choice made predominantly on the fact that we had a Wyndham membership that could be used to cut down the costs of accommodation. Besides, USA is also the home of Disney World, corn dogs and Friends isn’t it? In actual fact, the Wyndham membership was purchased three years ago with the specific plan for this holiday (and many more) in mind. It did not disappoint! Continue reading
