USA: “Four fabulous weeks of travel across the USA”

Hi! Both my husband Michael and I have been members of WorldMark South Pacific Club for over 13 years, achieving Privileges Platinum level. Recently, we documented four fabulous weeks of travel across the USA followed by another week of cruising in the Caribbean.

The journey begins …

Los Angeles

The weather here was sunny and warm to hot. The highlights were Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood, even though Hollywood wasn’t what I thought it would be … it turned out to be quite dirty and cramped with construction work in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre and most of the surrounding streets.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Where the stars are immortalised on Hollywood Boulevard! It has more than 2,500 stars spread over 18 blocks and over 10 million visitors a year. We could only do a few blocks due to time restrictions, but what a thrill to be here.

The Hollywood Sign was initially Hollywood Land sales. Originally made from timber, it was rebuilt in metal and is now an icon.

Rodeo Drive was very exciting. Beverly Wiltshire Hotel is where Pretty Woman was filmed. The street is lined with exclusive shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. so I could only window shop. There were lots of prestige cars such as Mercedes, Ferrari etc. to look at.

Our Recent Coast to Coast USA Trip, Courtesy of Travel Club by Wyndham

Hiking down into Bryce Canyon, Utah

Hiking down into Bryce Canyon, Utah

Over our ten years as WorldMark South Pacific Club members, we have stayed at many of the resorts within Australia, but this year we used our membership to take a fantastic overseas trip arranged for us by the friendly consultants at the Travel Club.

A Members’ evening in 2011 reminded us that the Travel Club was our ‘one stop shop’ for all travel arrangements, so using our Vacation Credits as payment, planning began in earnest (Editor’s note: Visit Owner Education for more information about these Ownership support evenings).

The USA was our choice, and we soon settled on a Cosmos ‘Trans-American Adventure’ Tour, which certainly lived up to its name, taking 23 days to cross the United States by coach from New York to Los Angeles. The tour, additional hotel accommodation in New York, transfers and airfares were all organised for us by the Travel Club. Continue reading

A fabulous holiday to Vegas & LA!

Grand Canyon - WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham

L-R: Ian, Jackie, & Tom at the Grand Canyon

My husband and I, along with two of our friends, have recently returned from a fabulous holiday to Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

We had a most amazing week in Las Vegas, touring as many of the casinos as we could.  If you actually go through the casino floor to the back of the casino, there are some fantastic displays of sculptures and themes associated with the particular casino.  The water fountain show at the Bellagio is amazing both during the day and with the lights behind it at night.  We also saw the erupting volcano  and the pirate show.  During the day, it was good crowd wise but at night was when it really came to life.  We went to the Freemont Street Light Show Experience and just stood in amazement of the roof putting on a display with millions of led lights.  Continue reading

The Grand Canyon: “I have now ticked off another item on my ‘to-do’ list!”

The Grand Canyon: WorldMark South Pacific ClubMy son, Brayden, my nephew, Brandon,  and I have enjoyed 3 weeks travelling in the USA, thanks to my marvellous Wyndham membership!

We visited Los Angeles, [including Anaheim], as well as Las Vegas with a 4-night stay at WorldMark Spencer Street. It is a lovely family-friendly resort, with the trademark friendly and helpful staff.  One very special tour, whilst in Las Vegas, was a trip to the Grand Canyon.  Continue reading
