It was my husband’s 60th Birthday and the 30th anniversary of when we first met in USA, so to celebrate both occasions we decided on a trip to California, USA. We wanted to restrict it to two weeks so that it would fit in the September school holidays.
We decided on Anaheim due to the theme parks and San Diego because going to the San Diego Zoo was high up on my children’s bucket list.
We stayed at Worldmark Anaheim resort and Wyndham Inn at the Park at San Diego. We only had points to cover one week, but by borrowing on next year’s point we had enough to cover the whole accommodation. September is a good time to go because it is not peak season in USA, however the weather is still warm.
At Anaheim we went to Disneyland for two days and to Universal Studios on one day. The kids loved Disneyland of course. My husband and I really enjoyed Universal Studios, especially the Studio Tour which included a 360-degree 3D show of King Kong versus T-Rex. The special effects show was interesting and the kids loved the animal actors show. The Minions 3D ride was fun and it was so warm that day that the kids walked through the Water Park with their clothes on just to cool down. (Hint: bring swimming costumes for the kids.)
My husband Damian and I have been Owners since 2003 and have enjoyed many wonderful holidays within Australia, but for our 20th Wedding Anniversary we wanted to do something really special. We both have been to the U.S.A. before but wanted to visit places we had never been. What better place to go for a Wedding Anniversary but to VEGAS! We decided we would go and renew our vows with Elvis and that is exactly what we did.
This was also our first trip without our two children, aged 17 and 15. We have never been away from them but decided that 20 years was something we really deserved to celebrate and if we were going to go to U.S.A. we decided to look at where to go before and after Vegas. This is where our membership with WorldMark was a Godsend! We booked everything online with ease and ended up with an itinerary that looked like this: Waikiki, San Francisco, Las Vegas, road trip to Palm Springs then back to Waikiki. We filled our days with tours and nights with shows, and had the absolute holiday of a lifetime! Continue reading →
Scott & Sally at Universal Studios, Hollywood – June 2012
Hello everyone at the MyStory blog!
Since joining the WorldMark South Pacific Club my husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed our holidays discovering numerous parts of Australia and Fiji since 2002. We have recently returned from an amazing (nearly) three-week holiday in Oahu, Hawaii and Anaheim, California. We have both travelled to various overseas countries and agree that this was our favourite holiday to date.
Hawaii spoilt us with amazing vistas and eclectic scenery everywhere we went. California’s Anaheim greeted us with the quintessential introduction to mainland U.S.A., and has left us wanting much, much more! Disneyland has proved to be “The happiest place on earth”, even for a couple that hasn’t been blessed with children. Continue reading →
I have been a member of WorldMark since 2009 and have had a few very nice holidays at Flynns, Kirra and Golden Beach resorts however I wanted more from my membership and so accumulated some credits and earlier this year took my wife and two daughters to the US and Canada for two weeks staying in WorldMark properties in 5 US cities on the west coast. All I can say is WOW. Continue reading →
