Wanaka: Full of Surprises

It was my 60th birthday on May 2nd. I kinda put Greg on notice that I would like him to organise something, as usually it is me who organises not only his significant celebrations but mine also. I knew he had organised some travel plans but I did not know any details. Two weeks before my actual birthday we had a gathering at home where, as usual, I had organised the food and drinks etc. and he had done the inviting! It was a lovely night but there was still no mention of where we were going and nobody would even confirm that we were going any time soon.

The Monday after the party he told me we were off to New Zealand, but didn’t specify Wanaka, as we had been talking about going to Auckland. Anyway, I packed and we usually leave from Gold Coast airport so on the Friday we set off and he said let’s have lunch at Kirra Surf Club before checking in to Wyndham there for the night. We had just got our lunch when in walked three of our dearest friends, Stephen and Leslie-Anne  and Kay, who we have known since our school days, shortly followed by my younger sister Mandy who lives at Airlie Beach. My other sister had been at the party at home but obviously Mandy had not. So the surprises kept on coming and I was told we were going to Wanaka, which is one of my favourite destinations.

“My Family Loved Our Stay in Fiji and We’ll Surely Come Back!”

We celebrated my 52nd birthday  by staying for 5 nights at Wyndham Resort Denarau Island (Fiji).

We left Sydney at temperatures of 18 degrees and arrived in Fiji at a warm temperature of 26 degrees. The weather was perfect! Sunny but not too hot. It was our first time in Fiji and we were surprised at how warm and friendly the people are especially the staff of Wyndham. I loved going to the reception to have a chat with them.

“My Dad’s Surprise 70th In Fiji!”

As I approach my 12th Wyndham anniversary I look back on all of the memories I can thank Wyndham for.

In February 2004, I bought my first 6,000 Credits when my eldest children were just one and three years of age. Since then, my husband and I have become Privileges Platinum members and our family has grown to four children, ranging in ages from 15 to one year of age.

Being a member of Wyndham has not only benefited us, but, as a homestay family, it has also been a great way for our international students to experience Australia. One of our Japanese students even came with us to Fiji!

Fiji: Celebrating in Style

Peter and Beth, and extended family, spent 14 days at the fabulous Wyndham Resort Denarau Island, Fiji, in July this year. This is the family’s sixth annual visit.

Over the six years we have added to the family, and extended the holiday as we simply don’t want to go home again!  We now consider ourselves seasoned professional frog racers, bula bingo players, kayakers and water aerobics athletes which make up an important part of our holiday schedule!

A Big Thank You to Wyndham Sydney

Wyndham Sydney

Patty & Stephen having a birthday toast with the gift of flowers and wine

One of our sons, Stephen, lives in Sydney.  As a result, we visit 2 – 3 times a year and always stay at Wyndham Sydney.

Recently, around Patty’s birthday date, we made our latest trip.  When we arrived in our room there was a beautiful arrangement of flowers, plus a bottle of wine.  There was a note with the flowers wishing Patty a happy birthday from Stephen. Continue reading

What Better Way to Celebrate a Birthday?

Sydney Opera House | WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham

Couldn’t resist this one!

What better way to celebrate a big birthday then to take your husband to Sydney for the week! Paul turned the big 50, and the stay in Sydney was made so much better by the friendly and supportive staff at Wyndham Sydney. They made our stay absolutely fabulous.

We had not been to Sydney for fifteen years, so the central location of Wyndham, the closeness to bus and train transport (Central Station just down the road), the very comfortable stylish rooms and the beautiful weather, made for an unbelievable experience. Continue reading

Owner Pic of the Week: “My 50th Birthday!”

Ningaloo Reef | WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham

Swimming with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef, WA (click to enlarge)

Alan and I recently stayed at the lovely boutique style Wyndham Outram Perth (WA).

What a lovely city Perth is, also a little win at the casino put a smile on my face.

We then traveled up north to Exmouth / Coral Bay to swim with the whale sharks in Ningaloo Reef, an outstanding experience to help celebrate my 50th birthday.

Our resorts are the best going

We decided that we wanted to do something different for our holiday so we went to the US. I had the opportunity to get a cheap holiday in Florida so I decided to incorporate it with a Wyndham holiday.

We set out from Brisbane for our 13 hour flight to LA, and then waited for our connecting flight to Orlando. Continue reading

WorldMark makes travelling great!

Collage by Gary and Thora

I have been reading mailbox in the Destinations Magazine and have been impressed by the comments made which reflect the real joy and satisfaction experienced by WorldMark Owners.

We have been Owners since 2001 and have also experienced the same satisfaction, but I wonder how many Owners, when they use their membership, get the most benefit available. Continue reading
