I had originally booked the week at Golden Beach as an excuse to catch up with a couple of girlfriends. Well it turned out that I was in desperate need of a break from life in Sydney.
The start to the holiday was not welcomed due to the morning storms over Brisbane and being stuck on a plane for three hours and having to cancel a lunch with a former colleague. When I had finally disembarked from the plane, I collected the hire car and headed north up the motorway.
Upon arrival at Golden Beach, relief finally settled in. The view from the room was all that calmed me down and knowing that I was going to get to enjoy it for the next week. I sat and enjoyed the view and the breeze for a little while before really checking out the unit. Continue reading →
My wife and I recently celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary at Golden Beach Resort. From the minute we stepped into the foyer, we felt like we were coming home as this was one of the first resorts we stayed at upon joining, what was then, Trendwest. We were delighted with the refurbished foyer, the Titanic staircase-style chandelier, red guest lounges, and very modern fountain. The ever-friendly staff treated us to a bottle of wine for our anniversary, which was a lovely touch.
We have stayed here many times with our kids since joining back in 2000, enjoying the kayaks, tennis courts, restaurant, pool and spa. We were given a prospectus as we were early and waited until other attendees arrived. After pursuing the information we looked at each other and said, “This is really good”, and we couldn’t wait to hear more information. Continue reading →
This photo was taken in August 2011 at WorldMark Resort Rotorua in New Zealand, which is nestled on the edge of beautiful Lake Rotorua. I was staying there for a few days with my brother and his family while we celebrated my niece’s 2nd birthday.
My husband and I have been WorldMark Owners since joining up at WorldMark Kirra Beach Qld in April 2004. Unbeknown to us, my brother, who lives in Auckland New Zealand, was joining up at the same time in a different country! Continue reading →
Over the years of raising a family on a small income, the longest time my wife, Bree, and I had gone away alone together to a motel or Resort style destination was for 2 or 3 nights. In recent years we had talked about planning a holiday for our 25th wedding anniversary, especially knowing all our kids were becoming fully independent.
