A Snorkelling Selfie in Port Douglas, QLD

Snrokelling in Port Douglas, Queenesland | WordlMark South Pacific Club by WyndhamMy wife and I have just come back from a fortnight at Ramada Port Douglas (QLD) and I thought I would share a selfie pic that I took while snorkelling off the Quicksilver Pontoon.

We had a great time at the Ramada and were looked after by staff, and formed great friendships with sales staff from being part of the Wyndham family.

A big catch in Port Douglas

As a large family, Mum, Dad and four kids, we have always found it difficult and/or too expensive to go on a decent family holiday. But, since joining WorldMark we have never had better vacations. Especially our last holiday to Ramada Port Douglas.

What a property! Continue reading

‘Grab It’ Helped Us Holiday in Port Douglas!

St Mary's by the Sea, Port Douglas | WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham

At historical St Mary’s by the sea

Thank you for giving me the privilege of staying at Ramada Port Douglas from 17.3. to 21.3. through the GrabIt program. Imagine having my former classmate & another friend (both from overseas) staying with my grand-daughter & me in a spacious two-bedroom apartment.

We enjoyed ourselves by going to Green Island on St Patrick’s day on the Reef Rocket & seeing the wonderful Great Barrier Reef at close range on the semi-submarine & glass-boat. Continue reading

“We relaxed immediately at Port Douglas”

Ramada Port Douglas

Ramada Port Douglas

I wanted to take my 87 yo mother for a holiday with my sister as we had done in previous years.  Finding a location that was not too taxing travel-wise and where there were attractions to cater for all abilities was the challenge.  I had gifted a stay at Port Douglas to some friends as a wedding present and they returned with glowing reports on Ramada Port Douglas (during renovation period!) so I was keen to see for myself now the renos were complete.

The open foyer (plus free roaming cockatoo) and tropical garden courtyard were refreshing and very welcoming.  We felt comfortable and relaxed immediately. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful (as always) with planning our activities for the week.  After settling into our very spacious 2 bedroom unit we visited the onsite restaurant, Tree Bar & Grill, for some “Sundowners” by the pool (there is a different cocktail special everyday and we tried them all) while we went through our brochures.  We dined at the restaurant on a number of occasions and could not have done better anywhere else. “We Were Never Bored”: A Special Family Holiday in Port Douglas

Tree Bar & Grill, Ramada Port Douglas

At Ramada Port Douglas’ Tree Bar & Grill restaurant

Very early on a dull Auckland morning, we boarded our plane and headed off to the sunny climes of Cairns & Port Douglas. What a welcome relief it was to be welcomed by temperatures in the late twenties!!  We got our car and headed off to the fantastic resort at the Ramada in Port Douglas, where we were made very welcome. We played in the pool, chatted with the resident cockatoo and explored the wonderful facilities and local beach, only minutes from the resort. Continue reading

My Business Trip in Paradise: Port Douglas

Apivut, Director of Owner Marketing and Solutions at WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham, shares his story and pictures from a recent business trip to Port Douglas.

It seems like I only just returned from my business trip (it was a couple of months ago now) to Port Douglas. We spent two days in the workshop though, so I didn’t even get to see the beach 🙂

However, the resort was absolutely amazing – especially after the recent refurbishment!

Here are some of the photos I took whilst on my trip… Continue reading

Enthralled by Port Douglas

The Port Douglas resort is just what the doctor ordered.  We drove from Mackay alongside the coastal mountains and rain forests in a little over ten hours.  The open plan tropical themed reception area initially enthralled us, as the staff and resident cockatoo welcomed us.

The resort was still undergoing refurbishment, but we were not inconvenienced in any way. The gardens and surrounds were totally in keeping with the wet tropics, with the waterway having its own resident barramundi. Continue reading
