Everyone loves to celebrate birthdays. After 50 it is your friends that you like to celebrate your big day with. This was the case when one of my friends turned the big 70. Even though she is a born Kiwi, she had never been to the Bay of Islands. I was able to book a 3-bedroom apartment through Wyndham, at Ramada Paihia which was pure luxury situated opposite the beach.

We have been Owners for the last 3 years but this is the first holiday we have ever taken! Not for the lack of trying, we had booked various holidays but because of one thing or another have always ended up giving them away to family & friends.
Finally on Monday, 25th July, we were off to the Edgewater Palms in Paihia (2 days later & 2 less people) we got to enjoy the luxury fit for a king, we had awesome weather (not bad for Winter), we did the Waitangi Treaty visit, we even drove up to 90 Mile Beach and had a swim – it was bliss. Born in New Zealand and wanting to visit her place of birth, we booked an 18 day trip to take our mother/mother-in-law for a long awaited holiday to Christchurch as well as a number of other places around both the Southand NorthIslands.
Our trip included a very diverse range of places, car hire, external and internal plane flights. Normally booking all of this would have been a nightmare but with the expertise of the Travel Club, Wyndham and RCI it couldn’t have been easier. Special requirements that suited out timeline were handled with patience and care. When circumstances changed and mum couldn’t come we decided to take our granddaughter. The staff in the Travel Club handled these changes so well and so quickly it was amazing!!! Continue reading →

We had heard from so many people how beautiful NZ was, how easy it was to travel around and how friendly the locals were. The value of the Australian dollar was an added bonus.
We decided to focus on the North Island since we had only 2 weeks break and wanted to stay at least 2 nights in each destination to allow time for worthwhile sightseeing. Continue reading →
