Port Douglas: “Fantastic family time”

Whilst on our recent family holiday to Port Douglas, I took this photo from the jetty at Green Island, Cairns.

Green Island

This holiday was different to others we’ve taken. It was different because we took my parents with us. This was my way of saying thank you to my parents for all the incredible sacrifices they’ve made over the years and for having the courage to leave their family and friends to come to this beautiful country in search of a better future for their children over 30 years ago.

I can’t begin to tell you how much my parents enjoyed this trip as we spent five wonderful days spoiling them. I love this photo because it’s a reminder of the peace, tranquility and joy we experienced as a family on this holiday.

Whilst on Green Island we purchased a bottom glass boat tour for mum and dad; they had never seen the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef before and their excitement at seeing the array of coloured fish and the coral was contagious.

We also travelled to Cape Tribulation, The Daintree and visited some fantastic ice-creameries that sold delicious tropical fruit ice cream combinations.

Our two teenage daughters found there was lots to do for young adults both in Cairns and Port Douglas.

The highlight of our trip was the day trip to Green Island where we spent the day snorkelling, swimming, parasailing and having some fantastic family time.

So thank you Wyndham for helping us create wonderful memories and thank you to the staff at Ramada Resort Port Douglas for their warm welcome upon our arrival.
