WOW! We have just returned from our first Club Tour with Travel Club by Wyndham – Tastes of Tasmania – and can happily declare it to have been a most enjoyable adventure experience. WorldMark Owners from various states of Australia and from New Zealand with friends gathered in Launceston where we met up with our tour escort, Ruan Myers, and our very experienced coach driver David, to commence seven full days together experiencing the beautiful scenery and delightful tastes of Tasmania.
All aspects of the tour were to everyone’s liking, from having good quality accommodation to a relaxed itinerary and laid-back daily routine that enabled us to cover quite a bit of territory without ever feeling rushed. We took in a great cross-section of the eastern half of Tasmania from the Tamar Valley through the north-east corner and the east coast, Freycinet Peninsular, central plains, down to Port Arthur, and to the Tahune Airwalk in the Huon Valley. We sampled local food and beverages at wineries, breweries, seaside seafood cafes, at the Salamanca Markets and in museums, and visited several of Tasmania’s renowned historic towns and significant places, including MONA.
Dave the Driver, a Tasmanian with a lifetime of varied experiences, proved to be a fountain of local knowledge wherever we went, and the daily schedules were flexible enough to allow him to provide members of the group with options such as where or when would we like to take our lunch break, and give first hand recommendations where appropriate. We had time to make detours to experience places where regular tour coaches never venture, and were free to take in whatever aspects of a particular location suited us individually, without feeling obligated to do everything as a whole group, like it or not. Thank you David, you made our trip the pleasure it was.
To the Travel Club by Wyndham team and those responsible at AATKings, and to our wonderful Club Tour Escort Ruan, thank you so much for putting together such a great tour package and executing it without any glitches. The staff at Wyndham Seven Mile Beach resort in Hobart, where we were accommodated for the final four nights, were all welcoming and ever so helpful, making that stage of our trip most relaxing and pleasurable – we recommend Owners take a holiday there, it’s a great location opposite a pristine beach where you can still find shells and soldier crabs.
For us, it was great sharing the experience with other WorldMark Owners helping to make it a super holiday, one we will always remember, so we would also like to thank them for their delightful company during our Tastes of Tasmania Club Tour.
