Beautiful Underwater Photography At Busselton Jetty, WA

My brother and I travelled to Dunsborough in Western Australia to dive the Busselton Jetty.

Busselton Jetty is the longest remaining wooden pylon jetty in the southern hemisphere.  It is now a marine sanctuary and is host to a great cross section of Western Australian marine life.  The clarity at this time of year is very accommodating for underwater photography.  The photos are a snapshot of some of the characters you will find should you come to dive here.  The jetty is also one of the few dives you can do without a boat.  The jetty has dive platforms and easy ladders for entry and exit. The city council here has really done this to perfection. There is even a train to take you and your gear to the end and return you to the car park after the dive.

Nestled in the Margaret River wine region in the South West of WA means there is so much more that can be enjoyed once the dives are done. All the staff at Wyndham Resort & Spa Dunsborough were truly amazing. The dives were brilliant, as was the choice of eating places, wines, and attractions – but what really set the holiday apart were the staff and facilities at Wyndham Resort & Spa Dunsborough. We enjoyed ourselves so much we extended our stay. Now this posed a booking problem, as it is a popular destination and our room was already booked for the following days. However the reception staff, in conjunction with Owner Services, sorted it out. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to stay in another room that the resort released to Owner Services.

As you can imagine the amount of equipment we carry for underwater photography and video work is staggering. However, the staff ensured the next room was available early and sent two strong lads to help us move directly into the new room. This took the lads and a golf cart three trips to shift the gear. The shift was seamless and done with a lot of joking and fun by the staff. This is the kind of service you hope from a high end resort but so often rarely find.

We have returned to Wyndham Resort & Spa Dunsborough twice and each time has been remarkable due to the staff and facilities.  I have since brought my parents who have fallen in love with the place as they are avid fishermen and can walk to the beach to fish.  This will certainly not be my last visit here as there is so much to do and see coupled with the feeling of being a valued guest by an amazing staff.
