As foster carers of 5 children under 9, holidays are somewhat important to us, as you can imagine! Our Wyndham Ownership has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Not only does it ensure we take those all important holidays, we have seen places we would never had normally dreamt of seeing.
In August this year we visited Wanaka in New Zealand for the first time. Arriving in Wanaka on the first day was one of the few occasions our children have ever been silent in the car for more than 10 minutes! I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful it is. Such a dramatic landscape of green fields, stunning lakes and snow-capped mountains, it’s the stuff of postcards really.
The children loved the skiing, we struggled to get them back to our Wyndham Resort, the promise of the hot-pool and pizza usually got them over the line. We skied at Cardrona for 5 of our 7 days which was breathtaking too. Every so often you would glance around, ‘taking a moment’ to really appreciate the beauty that was all around you.
I have to say that there was so much to do in Wanaka even if you didn’t ski. On one of our days off the slopes we hired bikes from our Wyndham resort and cycled around the lake. We had lunch in one of the local restaurants, sitting in stunned silence at the view before us.
If you want to see one of the most amazing places in all creation, you have to visit Wanaka. I can’t wait to get back there!
