It was such a lovely time we recently spent at Wyndham Resort Denarau Island, even the renovations and the council works couldn’t put a dampener on the location or the staff at Wyndham. My family and I spent 2 weeks in Fiji and from the time we arrived til the time we left we were wanting to come back.
We had been told how lovely the people of Fiji are, for some time before booking our holiday, and once we arrived we found all the stories true. How beautiful the people and the surrounds were!
We were disappointed to hear that the pool would be closed while we were there, but what do you do, progress has to be made and who would want to hold up the great work happening at Denarau?
At 9.07am on the morning of 2 May 2013, the new pool was opened to the people and as you can see in the photo (which was taken by the project manager) we were the first to “try it out”. The workmen in the background tell the story well, we definitely were the very first to swim in the new pool as they put the finishing touches on the landscaping and the bubbles. Our hats come off the all who worked so hard to have it ready while we were on vacation. Disappointment was very quickly replaced with elation for us “first time swimmers” in the new pool.
Watching the workers empty and start work on the main pool was pretty amazing, moving all those huge rocks manually, how hard they work.
Kind regards until next we holiday at Denarau Island.
