Stretching our holiday dollar further

Wyndham Surfers Paradise - Enjoying facilities near pool and BBQ

After joining WorldMark in 2007 and accumulating points, a girlfriend and I had a wonderful week in W.A. in 2009.

After a late evening flight we arrived in Perth to Outram and the biggest 2 bedroom apartment to relax in and enjoy for the next 3 nights. We felt  very decadent with a huge bed and our own bathroom. The circle bus stop was right at our door and we had a lovely time walking and exploring by getting on and off buses. There was also some great shopping in streets nearby the resort.

After a lovely stay we hired a car and travelled to Dunsborough for 4 fabulous nights. We were once again met with very friendly staff and a great place to stay near the beach and nice surrounds with a winery across the road. We were guided by the staff as to the best places to visit and they certainly were good recommendations; from the chocolate factory, the Simmo’s ice creamery, lunch at beautiful Bunker Bay and of course visiting wineries and Margaret River. We had a most relaxing and fun time and a great girls’ week away topped off by a beautiful meal at Toby’s Restaurant one evening after an afternoon swim and
relaxing by the pool. As we had a late flight from Perth we were able to spend time at Busselton Jetty and indulge in a lovely lunch on the return journey.

Wyndham Dunsborough - Enjoying pre dinner cocktails

Once again, being very busy in 2010 and not having the chance to go on holiday, more points accumulated. Late June 2011 my daughter and family stayed at Wyndham Surfers Paradise for a week and I was able to join them for 3 nights. They really enjoyed their week long family holiday right in the heart of Surfers Paradise and were able to visit all the attractions close by. They loved all the facilities on offer at the Surfers Paradise resort.

Using my 241 ICE certificate I had booked an Amsterdam to Budapest river cruise with ICE for October and wanted to travel via Canada and New York. Transferring points to RCI and staying at Aviawest in Vancouver for a week was a great beginning to an amazing holiday. Through Wyndham we booked Wyndham Gardens Hotel in Times Square for 3 nights at a discounted rate. It is very centrally located to the underground and close to all main attractions and was very comfortable after long days of walking.

Enjoying Vancouver

Using RCI to search in Europe where to stay prior to joining the river cruise we were able to get a very discounted rate at Vincennes in Paris. This had been on our bucket list, but not for this trip so was an added bonus to have a week in Paris prior to catching a train to Amsterdam. The resort was on the outskirts which suited us very well and we also enjoyed the 10 minute walk to and from the train station each day and the RER was very fast. The staff were most helpful and it was lovely to be part of the suburbs and stumble across the morning markets.

We had an amazing 8 week journey assisted by WorldMark, Wyndham Travel Club for flights, RCI and Wyndham for accommodation and ICE for the river cruise. I am so looking forward to planning another holiday in the future using all facilities available to stretch our holiday dollar further.

  1. We have been in the Wyndham family since 2006. For us it has always been a no – brainer! Now we are at Platimium level it is even more a no- brainer! We have the choice of thousands of holiday homes around the world where we don’t have to spend the holiday doing routine maintenance as you do with a vacation house. Been there done that. People who are dissatisfied by the club I believe, don’t really understand what they have in their hands. For us it has been a fabulous enhancement to our lifestyle
