Destination Denarau, Fiji for a party of twenty-two was a dream come true after two years of planning. To celebrate a joint birthday of 60 and 63, we wanted to mark it with a holiday that family and friends could also remember as a holiday of a lifetime.
Travelling from Victoria, NSW, the ACT and Queensland we met up in Nadi, Fiji for a week at Denarau. We booked 3 x 3 bedroomed units and our friends who are WorldMark Owners also, booked a 2 bedroomed unit.
Our party included 9 children aged 8 months to 13 years and we found Denarau to be particularly child friendly. It is a safe and protected resort with staff from the hotel and restaurant engaging with the children in a caring and professional manner. They had a friendly “Bula” for each and every guest while they went about their duties.
The facilities at Denarau are nothing short of spectacular with the ocean a few metres from the pool which was the hub of activity. With play areas, a pool bar and pockets for quiet contemplation it is simply fabulous.
Because Fiji is reliant on tourism, we found we could safely visit designated shopping areas and markets and explore new tastes and experiences. Also a trip to Malo Malo Island proved to be a winner for all of us.
The highlight was the birthday dinner at the resort restaurant where the staff created a magical dining experience complete with flowers and music beside the ocean. To complete the night was a group of staff singing Happy Birthday Isa Lei style.
One service we most appreciated as a large group was the transit unit provided free of charge after checkout on our last day. While waiting for our evening flight we were invited to use these rooms complete with towels, tea and coffee, while the kids swam the afternoon away.
Joining up with WorldMark South Pacific Club has been a real bonus and increased our travel opportunities. This time we were able to give that to both family and friends making their experience unforgettable too.
Thank you so much!
