Our 10th year Wedding Anniversary

This is my story of our memorable family trip to the Gold Coast, staying at the Wyndham Surfers Paradise Resort.

In June 2011 my husband and I celebrated our 10th year Wedding Anniversary on the Gold Coast.  This is was also a special trip for us as it was our first family trip using our points and viewing for the first time the kind of accommodations we had invested in.  We decided on the Gold Coast because we were taking our kids with us and at the same time we would do our rounds on the theme parks.

It was also a good excuse to escape the chills of NZ Winter weather that was slowly creeping in… so the welcoming of the warm Gold Coast sun was such a blessing.

We were there for 7 days.  It was a fun filled holiday, such a great holiday that the kids did not want to return back home, thinking that this was life… waking up in the mornings to go to theme parks rather than to school.  We arrived on Saturday and decided that we would go to the theme parks Monday, Wednesday and Friday, theme parks being Dreamworld, Movie World and Wet‘n’Wild.

The days in between would be for sight-seeing and of course – Shopping!  Shopping was great at the Pacific Fair and Harbour Town Outlets, definitely needed a day each to hit those shopping malls…lol.  Our accommodation was great! The views were breathtaking from where we stayed and it was only a 5 minute walk to the supermarket to buy groceries for breakfast and dinner. One time we bought some meat and patties and utilised the BBQ area while the kids enjoyed swimming in the pool until dinner was ready.

Our holiday at the Gold Coast is memorable for the warm weather, great accommodation and most of all fun-filled days at the Theme Parks which was only half an hours drive away from where we stayed.  Thank you Wyndham for top class accommodation and for helping make our 10th year Wedding Anniversary a memorable occasion.
